Whether you’re thinking of using a mobile digital antenna/aerial or a mobile digital satellite dish with your caravan or motorhome; choosing the correct digital TV receiver is very important. Freeview digital TV receivers only work with a TV aerial antenna and will not work with a satellite dish. Conversely a digital satellite receiver like sky or freesat will work fine with a portable satellite dish, but will not work with an aerial.
The Sky box you have at home will work perfectly well with a satellite dish as long as you have a 240volt power supply. A freesat receiver will work with a portable satellite dish, however is often difficult and very awkward to set up, as well as being very unreliable and poorly made. Alternatively a good quality specialised 12volt mobile digital TV receiver, like the Maxview MXL020, allows you to literally watch mobile satellite TV anywhere!
